Frank Lloyd Wright is considered the greatest architect of the 20th century. His legacy is one of America's foremost cultural treasures. Writer Robert Campbell called Wright "The greatest artist this country ever produced...our painters, sculptors, composers don't really rank with the tops of all time, they are not Rembrandt or Michelangelo or Beethoven; Wright alone has that standing. "
In 1932, Wright and his wife Olgivanna, created a remarkable school of architecture at Taliesin. Today it continues to flourish, attracting apprentices from around the world who come to study the principles of organic architecture. In this day of environmental awareness, the principles enunciated and practiced by Wright are more relevant than ever. They provide inspiration and practical solutions to creating a life in harmony with nature in a world that is tragically being ravaged by mankind.
Join John Rattenbury and Bill Mims as they share personal stories and rich experiences gained in the life, work and philosophy that underlie the spirit of Taliesin. Rattenbury joined Wright in 1950 and is senior partner of Taliesin Architects. He is the "Life Magazine Dream House" Architect of 1997, and is featured in the May 1997 issue of Life Magazine. Mims joined the Taliesin Fellowship in 1960 and recently returned as managing partner. Together they have designed and built several hundred buildings that exemplify the timeless concept of organic architecture, including the Frank Lloyd Wright Hemicycle Home in Hawaii, pictured below.
This program will also include a tour to view Maui's Waikapu Resort Golf and Spa, adapted by Taliesin Architects from Wright's design for the home of actress Marilyn Monroe and playwright Arthur Miller.

This 5 day educational retreat will be held on The Big Island of Hawaii in the comfort and privacy of this magnificent passive solar hemicycle home designed by architectural genius Frank Lloyd Wright. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants.
